The Golden Gate 10K, Golden Gate 5K, and the exciting Double 8K (5K + 3K) take runners along the stunning San Francisco waterfront, with spectacular views of the Golden Gate Bridge for more than 80% of the course.
The race begins at historic Crissy Field near the Presidio of San Francisco. From the start, runners enjoy unforgettable views of the Golden Gate Bridge, Alcatraz Island, the Marin Headlands, and the Golden Gate National Recreation Area.
With three race options, the Golden Gate races offer something for everyone — from first-time runners to experienced competitors.

* Golden Gate 10K
* Golden Gate 5K
* Double 8K Challenge (5K + 3K) — run a 5K, take a short break, then return for a 3K second leg. Combined times determine final results.
Do The Double – A Unique Race Format
The Double 8K is part of the innovative Double Racing format, created by Bob Anderson in 2010. Runners compete in a 5K, take a 1 hour and 15 minute recovery break, then race a 3K second leg. Combined times determine final standings.
Bob Anderson, founder of Runner’s World and Race Director of the Golden Gate races, will be present to welcome runners.

All participants receive a high-tech race shirt, and all finishers earn a Golden Gate finisher medal.
Age-group awards will be presented in the following divisions: 19 & under, 20–29, 30–39, 40–49, 50–59, 60–69, 70–79, and 80+.
Special trophies will be awarded to overall winners.
The Double 8K Challenge offers $200 in prize money — $100 to the top male and $100 to the top female. Checks will be mailed to the winners.
