Terms of Service – Bay Area Races

Bay Area Races events are produced under the Double Road Race Federation. By registering for any event, you agree to the following terms and conditions:

1. Event Registration

All participants must complete the registration process and provide accurate personal information. Race entries may not be transferred without prior approval.

2. Entry Policy

All race entries are non-refundable. However, we understand that plans can change, and we are happy to offer name changes or transfers to another one of our upcoming events when requested in advance of race day.

3. Assumption of Risk

Participation in a running event involves inherent risks, including but not limited to physical injury, illness, or unforeseen conditions. By registering, you acknowledge these risks and confirm that you are physically able to participate.

4. Participant Responsibility

Participants agree to follow all race rules, course directions, and instructions from race officials and volunteers. Failure to comply may result in disqualification.

5. Event Changes or Cancellation

Bay Area Races reserves the right to modify the event format, schedule, or course, or cancel the event due to circumstances beyond our control, including weather, safety concerns, or public health considerations. No refunds will be issued in such cases.

6. Timing and Results

Official race results are based on gun time (clock time), beginning at the official start of each race. Participants are not assigned start waves; however, faster runners are encouraged to position themselves near the front. Results are considered final once published.

7. Media Release

By participating, you grant Bay Area Races and the Double Road Race Federation permission to use your name, photograph, likeness, submitted information, and race results for promotional, marketing, and event-related purposes, including the promotion of future events, without compensation.

8. Personal Information

Your personal information will be used solely for race registration, communication, and event-related purposes. We do not sell or share your data outside of what is necessary to operate the event.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Bay Area Races and the Double Road Race Federation shall not be liable for any damages, injuries, or losses arising from participation in the event.

10. Agreement

By completing your registration, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to these Terms of Service.
